Kallen Miller, Assistant Director

Beginning her first full year teaching, Kallen Miller serves as one of the music teachers at Farragut Intermediate School in Knoxville, TN. She teaches over 1,200 students in the Farragut Community, alongside her co-teacher Hannah Reddick. Her mission is to grow her students' knowledge and love of music through singing, playing instruments, and exploring new cultures. Further serving the Farragut community, Kallen co-leads the afterschool 4th and 5th grade choir, as well as the newly established Musical Theatre program.

This will be Kallen’s second year serving as the Assistant Director of the Knoxville Opera Children’s Choir, a nonprofit community organization. This children’s choir is a tuition-free opportunity for students to participate in a choir starting in 3rd grade through 5th grade. Through her role, she leads weekly rehearsals, directs songs at the seasonal performances, and encourages musical literacy in a welcoming, lively environment.

Kallen graduated from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville in December 2024, with a Bachelor’s degree in Vocal/General Music Education.

During her time at UT, she was involved in various clubs and organizations such as CNAfME, TMEA, and ACDA. Kallen served as an ambassador for the College of Music for three years. She also volunteered as a board member of the Women of UT Music club. Interning at Sequoyah Presbyterian Church, Kallen became experienced with leading young children in a choral setting. She is a current member of NAfME and ACDA.

Kallen is honored to serve as Assistant Director of the Summit Choral Collective. This semester, she is delighted to be conducting a piece with the Tenor/Bass Choir.
